What Do You Do With Your Data?

Last week we chatted about marketing metrics and tools. This week, Jennifer Denney and Lorraine Ball pick up the conversation, with ideas on how to use the data to improve your marketing.

What we discussed …

Data can be overwhelming – there is so much to look at. Now that you have collected your data, it’s time to start planning.

Is it Time for a Different Method?

So you have your data, now what? Upon collecting data, you should think about what comes next. The data from each platform you use will tell a different story. This is when you should decide if it is time to try out different methods.

Allocating Resources

You should first think about what type of marketing you are doing and who you have on your team that can help out. Or, maybe you need to try a different type of marketing. It is important to analyze your data in a way that you can break it down so that you can utilize resources that will make a difference.

Numbers, Numbers, Numbers

Yes, there are a lot of numbers you can track. However, it may be in your best interest to pick a handful of metrics to closely look at. This allows you to get really specific about what these numbers can tell you – and then strategize what to do next.

It All Comes Back to Content

The content you produce can be used in many outlets – social media, blogs, videos, and email marketing. And of course, this content leads to numbers. The metrics you track from this content can tell you what type of content is of value.
